STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENTS AT NATIONAL LEVEL

For the Year 2007

34th Jawahar Lal Nehru science exhibition

Master Sarthak Kumar was awarded consolation prize.
Master Suryanarayana was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 250 for securing 344th rank out of 3000 at the final level of exam held on 28th February 2007.
English Essay Writing Competition  

Kum. Madhurima Mukherjee of class X B got an opportunity to interact with the President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on 30th Jan 2007. That's because she was the winner of the middle category in the English Essay Writing Competition conducted this. She won different prizes at the School level, Zonal level and National level. About one-lakh students participated from 244 schools across six cities of India. I congratulate Madhurima and Smt. Nafisa who is the in charge, who keeps on conducting various external competitions, to give an exposure to the students.

KVS National Mathematics Olympiad  

Master Amrit Om Nayak, of class XII appeared for the first exam of KVS National Mathematics and secured 15^th rank at National level and won a cash award of Rs. 2500/-. He topped at the Regional level. Thereafter he received 7-day training at Bangalore where renowned Prof from Indian Institute of Science taught higher Maths associated with the International Maths Olympiad (IMO). Thereafter he appeared for the second exam where he obtained 14^th rank at National level. After further training of 7 days at Delhi, he appeared for third exam and secured 11^th position. He appeared for the International level Examinations at TIFR in the month of Feb 2007.

Master Paras Narang, of class XII A appeared for the  Mathematics and        
Olympiad secured 4^th rank at National level.
 
And in  Mumbai Regions - 1st Rank for Maths Olympiad

Department of Science

A very innovative model “GPS Rail on Roller’s” was prepared by Sarthak, Nitish, Rupesh, Aditi & Tanvi Singh of XI A, under the able and dynamic guidance of Smt. Kavita Verma PGT (Physics) and other Science teachers.

It was exhibited and appreciated at the School level, Regional level & National level and was awarded the Consolation Prize at the Jawaharlal Nehru Science Exhibition.

An Educational trip was arranged for XII class to the Nehru Science Centre to be the participants of the Aids Awareness lecture delivered by Jean Louis Exceler. They also had a lecture by an IIT Professor on holography.

S. Suryanarayan from class IX appeared for science olympiad and secured
116th rank in all India level

National Standard Examination

– in Physics, Chemistry & Biology was conducted for class XI & XII students in November 2006. Four students received merit certificates including John Titus George, and Narendra Kumar.


Department of Social Science

In the academic session 2006-07, Malaysia (Country) and Haryana (State) were allotted to Mumbai region. The students had prepared exhibits i.e. models, maps, charts & transparencies under the guidance of faculty members, in which two exhibits were selected for the Regional Social Science Exhibition 2006.

9^th National Science Olympiad Exam

Mas. Suryanarayan of class VII secured 237 position in first round where 25000 students participated approximately and in the second round secured 344 position where around 2400 students participated. He received a cash prize of Rs.250/-.

National Science Day was held on 28 Feb 2007. A quiz competition, Drawing & a Skit were organized to celebrate the day.
